Starfish demonstrated the latest version of the TS Splicer and TS Switch, the new TS Slate Player and the latest version of the Open platform encoder
TS Splicer is a complete media insertion system that combines multiple-channel, frame-accurate transport stream media splicing, ad server with media storage and SCTE 35 opt-out signal decoding.
It runs on generic, enterprise-grade, hardware and provides simultaneous splicing of up to 16 HD or SD video services on a single server, with support for MPEG2, H.264 and HEVC/H.265 encoded media. Moreover, its frame-accurate approach to splicing preserves the quality of the video input signals.
TS Switch enables clean switching of transport streams. It can be configured to switch from a range of control signals or via detection of input signal failure.
StarEncode features programmable time delayed outputs (typically used for +Hour channel variants) and supports RTMP streaming and RTP/UDP outputs suitable for streaming to cloud media services.
